Canon's imageRUNNERs are digital, meaning that in addition to making hard copies of documents, they can seamlessly handle all your electronic communication needs too. By running imageWARE Document Manager on a connected PC, you can access the imageRUNNER and archive, edit, retrieve, distribute both electronic and paper documents – and even make annotations on them.
The fax of life: That means faxes, too. A properly connected imageRUNNER can easily be used as a fax machine, but your computer can also talk to the imageRUNNER. With a fax driver installed, you can fax a document from your PC – a Microsoft Word document, for example – through the office imageRUNNER. Without having to print documents just to fax them, you may even save a tree or two.
It also works the other way around. The imageRUNNER can act as your data gateway, storing incoming faxes in its internal memory or forwarding them to your choice of destination, whether it's an e-mail address or a file server. You can even preserve confidentiality by password-protecting incoming faxes stored on your imageRUNNER.

Universal language : More often than not, the modern office environment requires juggling electronic documents and hard copies between fax machines, copiers, and printers. Multifunction devices can help consolidate some of various information channels, but the imageRUNNER can go a step further with Universal Send. The function, which comes standard on select models, allows the sending of a single document to multiple destinations – including fax machines, e-mails, and file servers – all at once. The imageRUNNER can save up to 1,800 destinations, including 200 One-Touch buttons.
